With the implementation of the new SPCC (Spill Prevention Control & Countermeasures) regulations by the EPA, all facilities which come under the regulations and have railroad tank car loading/unloading racks handling oil products must have a spill collection system which can contain the volume of the largest tank or compartment. In most

DIVERSITY
One of Century Group's major strengths is its diversity of metal spill collection pan products. Whether it's a railroad tank car loading facility, a biofuels plant, locomotive fueling station, railcar wash facility, acid loading rack or a dry bulk loading station we
have the right metal spill containment system for your operations. If your product is a caustic or acid we have the ability to fabricate the pan system out of stainless steel. If your product is petroleum based then a carbon steel pan may be sufficient. If corrosion is a concern then the answer may be a galvanized or aluminum pan system.

If your facility handles liquids and there is minimum contamination from solids such as sand, trash or other potential contaminants then a closed drain system may be your product of choice.
If your facility handles solids such as plastic pellets, grains or sanding is a concern which is characteristic with locomotive fueling racks, then an open cross drain system may be the proper design.
SAFETY
Depending upon location and type materials handled within the area of the Century
metal spill collection pans the system may require grated walkways, elevated walkways or a textured non-skid coating. Some spill collection pans require full grated bottoms to insure that foot traffic does not come in contact with hazardous materials or those aggressive with footwear. Normally elevated walkways are used in areas where there is high pedestrian traffic traversing the spill collection pans on a routine basis. The spill collection pans are 
available with a textured non-skid coating when there is a high chance that materials such as heavy oils and fuels are being spilled in the pan system on a continuous basis reducing the coefficient of friction of the walking surface.
Steel Enviropan® System
Century Group also has the ability to paint the edge or vertical walls of the metal spill collection pans to enhance the safety of pedestrian traffic which must traverse the pans during daily operations. These special paints match OSHA safety yellow. An adhesive safety tape can also be applied to key areas for safety, such as the cap flashing during installation.

At Century Group we are not only capable of going to the project site to take as-built field measurements, we also help develop shop drawings for your specific metal spill collection pans. We also assist engineers and consultants in developing inspection and contingency plans which are integral when putting together an SWPP or FRP Plan to meet SPCC regulatory standards.
